Too busy to tell you about my life: basically i'll just give u a bullet list maybe that'll give u an idea?

Wireless Broadband
Set it up last Thursday. Using Xtra's D-Link. Pretty easy. Now the whole house is a little network. Come and join the workgroup. haha.

Friday evening started with end of month drinks at workplace followed by a few Monteith Black's at The Drake. Slept straight away when I arrived home after that. Woke up at 8pm for dinner at Ponsonby Foodcourt again. 'Borat' the movie at St Lukes was one bad decision on movie selection but the company was great with Jason Ng, Mia, Yan and DT.

We were later joined by Mel and Amy, Jeng and Carol at Mo Mo Tea Mt Albert. It was a good evening. Very well relaxed.

Spent the whole Saturday day time doing cleaning up of house. Had the chance to go for a swim downtown before church (yes I go to church on Saturdays). Jeng cooked his famous oyster chicken and invited WarrenG for dinner. 'Smarshing' I should say. Arron and Jen along with Elton, Mel and Amy came over for predrinks but didn't manage to join me, Yan and J Ng for Margies. It was a pretty random and fun night without expecting much out of it. And yeah, a belated birthday with to Janell.

Sunday started at noon with Yumcha at Grand Harbour. Crazy queue at the main entrance. This is definitely the best chinese restaurant in Auckland by the looks of it. Or response rather?

Probably a long evening at Margies made it a necessity at Takapuna beach straight after that. It was a well rested one. In fact I haven't had this little nap at the beach for ages. haha. Went to Shore City and bought myself a pair of shoes. To be honest I only have three pairs of shoes: Working Shoes, Casual Shoes, and Running Shoes. Deciding on getting a new pair of shoes at Hannahs is bloody painful. it's a hundred bucks for god sake. But heck: come to think about not working for a day or two maybe you'd earn it back? haha.

Went to view a house in Epsom before we all set off for the main event of the weekend: Peking Duck at Empress. Yeah duckies again, for comparison purposes I should say. To be frank, the ducks ain't as good as last week's but the company's good. Thanks for coming people.

Last programme of the weekend was DVD again. 'Ladies Man'. Seen it before? it's a funny movie. Rent it on weeklies. You won't regret!

Thweet thang!...

Kev.

People ask me why I always appear busy. I don't 'appear' busy as I am really busy. I don't like to waste any of my free time doing nothing. I like to keep myself on the go at any time.

If I have to sit down, I'll surf the net. I like to read news. I like to know what's happening around me. There's one site I always enjoy reading: www.nzherald.co.nz

it's new zealand news. yeah. I don't have any other choices do i? well some times i do read news back home. www.thestar.com.my

just by browsing without reading every single news I'd have used up all the free time i have. so.... yeah if you see my status as 'busy' on msn that means I am doing something.

i like to read people's blogs too. that's why you'll see the links i've included in my site. but sometimes it's a pain when people don't update their site for half a year..... hmmm... now these people could be super busy! but hey do update once in a while. there's some one who might just click onto your site and read it once a month?

Monkey Business. Corporate Lessons Again.

Ponder this:

Start with a cage containing five monkeys. In the cage, hang a banana
on a string and put a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey
will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon
as he touches the stairs, spray all of the monkeys with cold water.
After awhile, another monkey makes an attempt with the same result.
Pretty soon, when any monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other
monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, turn off the cold water. Remove one monkey from the cage and
replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants
to climb the stairs. To his horror, all of the other monkeys attack
him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to
climb the stairs, he will be assaulted. Next, remove another of the
original five monkeys and replace it with a new one. The newcomer
goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part
in the punishment with enthusiasm. Again, replace a third original
monkey with a new one. The new one makes it to the stairs and is
attacked as well. Two of the four monkeys that beat him have no idea
why they were not permitted to climb the stairs, or why they are
participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

After replacing the fourth and fifth original monkeys, all the
monkeys which have been sprayed with cold water have been replaced.
Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs. Why not?
Because that's the way it's always been around here. And that's how
company policy begins...

I'm in office now. fucking 10pm. burning all the stuff to cd's and transferring personal stuff to my ext hdd. mf.

have i been slack? woke up at 8 this morning. arrived at work at 8.30. been out on site, takanini, brigham creek, and albany, till 3.30pm. got told to swap my pc with a colleague within the next 24hrs. notice that I GOT TOLD to do so. no space for negotiation at all. wtf.

and straight after that I had to archive bloody boxes and clean up the boxes at my desk. but before I really got it started I had to go out again. this time to western springs for site visit. my day practically just finished at 5.30pm. straight after that I went out for a run.

Nike run again. 10km today. brilliant. now i'm fucked. tired. i wish i could sleep now. no. i have to come back to office to finish up my desk cleanup.

but hey why am i blogging now? yeah i'm waiting for the burner to finish burning the old stuff to DVD's. why the burning? cos i'm swapping my powerful state of the art pc with my colleague's super freakin slow sub standard pc. (shhh... at least i think so). a pc with two monitors downgraded to one with just one monitor. why are we archiving stuff? cos we're doing some major shifting between departments. Traffic team's gonna shift to structural team. but why am i cleaning up my desk in a hurry? cos i'm no more in traffic. pretty soon. i'm off to Proj Mgmt team. yeah you heard me. I'm outta here. sad in a way since i'm so used to traffic team. happy in a way since i'm gonna be exposed to new stuff in engineering.

During this transition it will be pretty much mobile for me. since i'm taking over Lucas' (my current 'mentor') projects I will basically be out on site all the time. However this will be a chance to get out of office. it's summer for god sake. get some vitamin E. not that i'm fair or something. but i'm not black. slip slop slap ppl.

but i'm hoping to achieve something within the next few months before i fly home to malaysia for cny. hopefully something good comes out of this before i move to environmental team. (yes! u heard me again! env team :p)

Don't wanna get sick again. Not physically sick but the mind's pretty sick for a while... Think about this: Have you ever been so bored with what you're doing till you almost lose the enthusiasm in doing whatever that you had hoped to do? That was me. Now life is going through a big change.

There is definitely light at the end of this bloody dark tunnel. Get a torch.

Currently listening to Chris Brown - Say Goodbye..... Warren's got the same feeling listening to this song. :) There it goes ppl enjoy it. especially the lyrics

Phobia themed weekend's pretty short for me these days...

Started from Friday evening at a Korean restaurant on Lorne St. Can't remember what it's called.... Bokcholee??

Usual gang for dinner.

Some random Korean dude came to our table and asked Mia 'excuse me can i take a photo of you?' ... (?!!!) not that we feel weird or something since Mia does attract a lot of attention at most times but.... what troubles the mind is: this dude.

A shy looking guy, low self esteem unfriendly look on his face, together with his pink attire. i mean PINK. Imagine an unapproachable guy with F4 member type of hairstyle, no smile on his face, and most importantly: pink. Pink outfit! pink shirt, pink jacket and pink TIE! gawd.. NZBCF is over mate. what's with the pink shit?! ... I should say it's damn disturbing. ask any of us at the table and you will agree with my thoughts. it's freaking disturbing....

pool table was booked at Orange in Upper Queen St at 10pm. It was a good night at the place where we met up with a few friends/ ex drunks at my party. We even get to know some 'cheeky people' there. Such a joy coupled with unlimited distractions that you don't mind not playing well since the company of friends and people around will make it a good outing after all. Anytime.

We ended the night with some pearl milk tea at Hulu Cats in town.

Saturday night started pretty late. Attended Yean's 21st at Carpark Bar downtown.... This made me wonder why I didn't have a crazy 21st for my own back then? haha. If only I could wind back the clock it would have been awesome.... but time waits for no one..we should just look forward. there are better things ahead awaiting us instead of holding on to things we couldn't replay.

Spent the rest of the night for Phobia at Kiss Bar till 6am. Learnt one thing about my colleague Betty and friend Yan: They're hard core clubbers. No doubt! haha! Also, Phobia was really good. No RnB but sometimes a bit of change to just dance music can freshen up the otherwise routine Margies outings.

Thanks to the organisers Cynergy and DJ's Fei Bian and Jason. you guys rox.

Mid day yumcha at 12.30pm with Warren, Mia and Yan. This is seen as an essential part of Sundays nowadays . Else I wouldn't feel content with the weekend.

Doesn't matter if alcohol's not there mate. The tea is the essense! Believe me... :P

Sunday was wrapped up with another DVD night session after a dinner with some new friends of Mia along with Yan, Jeng, Carol, Mel and Warren.

Highlight of the dinner at Sun World New Market was definitely the Peking Duck.

Don't have the photos here but it's definitely my favorite snapshot of the weekend! ....sexy duck.

Dark Tech, Massive Uplifts, Twisted

a Stomping 180bpms finish!

Rumours are abound as to a new
revolution in the
Auckland club scene. There is an
underground fever
brewing. There are cries for a better, purer
offering. There are longings for a
return of a
night, a place, where all who are there
are there
for one reason? to dance. Where everyone
on the
floor can look at each other, knowing
that they
are there for the music, for the sense of
community, that they are all on the same
floor,
the same platform, the same euphoric
feeling.

We cannot promise you the world.

We cannot promise the return of some
long gone
memories.

We cannot promise you that you feel the
same as
you did five years ago.

We cannot promise you the best night you
have ever
been to.

But we can promise to deliver a new
alternative
future for dance

Eleven-Eleven.

I am overwhelmed. Again. Good? Bad? I'd say it's a good experience! Thanks
to all who took the time to come to this private function. Some people asked
me why the party? My birthday? No. Main reason is to network. Was it a
success?

I'll let you be the judge. :)

There's probably too many to talk about the party and I couldn't be bothered
to structure this post. I'll just let it all out at one go, adding some
little scenes along the way.

Saturday: my day started pretty early. 11am. Went to pick up glasses I hired
from Mt Albert. 50 glasses. 2 bowls. Came back to city for haircut.

Yes you heard me. Haircut. After so long it's about time for one. Went to Top Hair Design and this Chinese dude with bleached hair attended to me. Gave me the best hair style he can imagine. Well at least that's what he thought.

All I wanted was a good, short hairstyle and a colourant that covers my snow mountain like grey hair. Hair style wise: I love it. Hair color: shocking. Not that it's THAT shocking: If I was back in uni days I wouldn't have given a fuck about it but hey i'm working now and what he did to my hair was crazily absurd. Screaming light brown!

Damage had been done. I had no time to do anything about it.

Had a call from Warren and we went around looking for this thing called 'Grenaldine syrup'. never heard of it before but we managed to find one at one of the liquor stores in Ponsonby.

3pm. We had lunch at Ponsonby Foodcourt, stopped by at Lee Outlet for a quick peek to check out if there's any good brown pants for Warren then came home to drop off the stuff for the party.

Gotta thank Warren for helping out so far.

Heather came up all the way from Welly for this party should also be thanked. One helluva party animal I should say :T. Carol and Jeng picked her up from the airport and spent the rest of the afternoon making sure the place was up and running for the night.

Thanks to Jeng, Carol and Heather.

Went to church at 5pm.

Had a quick shower, made sure everything's ready and went to Mt Albert Memorial for Aud and Bronson's drum thing, picked up Jacq and Miho along the way.

What is it actually? I have no idea but apparently the hall's full of familiar faces. Thought it was supposed to start at 7.30pm but when we went there they didn't start till 9pm? Didn't manage to watch it myself as my thing's supposed to start at 10pm! So Miho followed me home and apparently Michelle and her cousin Janet have already arrived! Talking about early-comers eh? haha! extremely early i'd say.

The 'bartenders' for the night, Emily and Jonno, arrived at 9.30pm with all the equipments and in no time got it all set up before the party.

Thanks thanks thanks to you two. You two rox. Big time.

Party started off a bit slowly but by 10.30pm I think almost half of the people arrived. A tequila shot at entrance was enough to get the adrenalin pumping.

90% of the people I know over the past few months in the great Auckland came to attend this. It was an awesome feeling. Two things that needed to be sorted, alcohol and parking, got sorted just in time for the party.

*Anyone has a photo of the parking space outside the house? I only have an image of it in my brain but not in the real world photography. It was one of the images I regret not having taken. (guess we won't have this scene again for some time eh? pls pls share ur photos!)

Bottles and bottles of tequila downed within the short time period. Guests were getting noisier and noisier. Even the speaker from my pc playing 'Come to Me' by P.Diddy couldn't cover the noise.

When the alcohol in you reached a certain level telling you to slow down on the drinks, you gotta listen to it. I did. Some didn't.

That's when the drama started.

My unit is a linked townhouse comprising three floors. Ground floor = garage, first floor = living + kitchen; and second floor = master + second bdrm. basically it's a drama from living room onwards till the toilet upstairs! haha!

from the 'flushing' of the toilet, 'pouring' over the staircase and living room floors, all the way to the 'christening' of the balcony. It was a shocker.

from this party we could tell that alcohol without control is a killer. Don't worry that you ain't getting any money back from the party cos you will. $10 a person is a real bargain. But there's no point drinking all you can when you could be having fun just by being half drunk? :) Moreover, drinking your sorrows away could be done in a controlled manner: drink half this week, continue with the second half the following week. Isn't it better that way?

There's no point downing the whole bottle of Johnnie/JD/Chivas yourself when you could share the fun with a few sober ones. It's always better when everyone's in the same state of alert rather than seeing one or two complete drunks in the sober crowd.

It was a massive turnout. Ended at 1.30am. Why? Cos I said so?

Noise control? *wink wink*

All went separate ways. Some stayed back due to alcohol overdose.

I'd like to apologise to those who were waiting at either Kiss Bar, The Met, or Sixth Sense. Sorry to keep you all waiting but I'm pretty sure you enjoyed yourselves for the rest of the night. All the required dress code paid off eh?

The evening ended at Kiss Bar for 2 hours. Outside the bar to be exact.

Here I'd like to thank Nick for being super nice to us, being the most sober guy that night, driving carloads of people to and fro the place.

Too bad when we were supposed to leave the bar for home his car broke down on us. Took AA around 1.5 hrs to arrive.

Some friends crashed at my place till the morning after.

I slept for only 2 hrs. Maybe I was the second most sober soul that night? Or the third one? Jengis had been very helpful. haha.

To make sure everyone had a refreshed mind for Sunday we went for Yumcha at Grand Harbour. A quiet but essential one.

House clean up started after that and ended around 5pm.

Thanks to Jeng and Carol for renting the Rug Doctor.

Thanks to Warren for being 'smarshing'ly helpful in cleaning up.

This Sunday ended very early for me. very very early. I think i slept at 9.30pm....

I think my included txt's have almost run out now. and it's still 2 weeks away... I'd like to say it loud and clear here in place of the txt form:

"thanks for coming to the party. wouldn't be that fun with one less ppl like u. u r one essential element of the party and thx for that!"

11/11.

Dial 111 for 111. Nick Said. Help in any kind accepted. haha.

All in all I have learnt one thing: Maybe quality is greater than quantity.

I'd like to thank you all for coming. It means a great deal to me. It's an honour to have you here. It's definitely the biggest I've ever organised.

Will I have one more?

What do you think?

Quality vs Quantity. Both can be achieved, only with controlled quantity. Be it numbers (of invitee) or alcohol (dosage).

What's the use of dress code? What's the use of car parking? What's the use of $10? Why 'drink all you want' when you can share it amongst your friends? :)

You do the math.

House party. Success? Tell me about it.

Maybe it was the night when we were supposed to launch this soc called.... ACG. Maybe not. yet. or maybe everyone's already in the soc?......

PHOTOS: Thanks to D.T. for being so professional in photography.

Don't be disappointed when you can't see any photos in this post because the photo album in the process of compiling. Be very very disappointed when you don't share your photos. Everyone of them constitute an important part of the night and I want to make sure all photos (including yours) are with me before I post them all up. contact me to contribute in any kind.

Let the memory stay on. We're all part of it. Share it.

It's thursday evening. Tomorrow's Friday. Can't wait for Saturday. It's not party or something. it's just that Auckland's a bit miserable lately... with the stupid 120kph wind over Auckland ... I just wanna stay home. Tomorrow it will be a night in or just plain indoor thing. Just pearl milk tea or something.

Maybe it's the boredom at work. Not just me I tell you. Look at the article that affects the whole country:
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/11/story.cfm?c_id=3&ObjectID=10409932

I learnt that there are two things you could be happy about your job: Money or job satisfaction. Me? I'd say i'm happy with my pay. I can live on my own at anytime. Job? It HAD been pretty boring for the past few weeks. But I had a talk to the managers involved and I'm promised more to further my career. Maybe a change would be better! I expect this change would take place some time next week. Can't wait.

I have a friend who's been a sales exec back in malaysia and now since she ain't a PR it's hard to get a job similar to one in malaysia. Do you have any vacancies for a fellow malaysian? Kindly help out! :)

Trust me with the current slow down in economy and rise in house prices, you gotta be a half-millionaire now to own your own house. dammit.

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/8/story.cfm?c_id=1&ObjectID=10409489

Maybe that's one big challenge i'm willing to take on. At least we have a goal in front of us. eh?

Well, weekend's coming. Again. At least I'm happier now than this morning. Everything is clearer now ahead of me. Let's look forward.

For the drinkers: don't text while you're driving dammit. don't make the govt ban cellphone usage while driving. stop your car or whatever. don't make yourself another stat in the crash database.

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/story.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10409887

And speaking about drinking... drinking age stays at 18? haha. doesn't concern me at all. but do drink wisely ppl.

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/story.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10409882

Hmm. i think i've posted too many news articles. enough for today. will blog again.

p.s. It's pretty cold tonight.... will there be hail? hehe.

let there be clear sky on saturday night. i need it. i wanna go out.

till then.

Guy Fawkes. What did you do? Did you achieve much?

Further to what I mentioned in my previous post I wonder how many ppl actually paid to watch the fireworks display? I didn't.

Friday night: Went out to play pool at Orange with Mia, Yan, Warren and Kenny. Met up with a new friend Nick. Some of us took off early for Margies as it was Nancy's birthday. Caught up with Yvonne and Janell there. Stayed till pretty late... 4.30am?

Saturday started at 3pm for me. Went to church at 6pm-7pm then me and Warren decided, after dinner, to try our luck if there really wasn't any fireworks at the Viaduct. We drove down to the end of Halsey St, near the Floating Pavillion.... and there it was.... silence. fuck. the only sound we heard was his stereo, playing Jay Chow's songs. lol. Jeng and Carol came along too. :)

Trying to take some boredom out of this evening, we set off for the wild wild West Auckland - Henderson to pick up May for another drinks session, at Metropolis Hotel. It was a pretty posh place. Not really my type but we left the place really early for The Met. Apparently Arron and Jo came along. Maybe we were too tired of this and left for supper. Didn't manage to join the crowd for Margies (again, yes you heard me. Margies again!)

Sunday started pretty early. It was full on. I woke up at 10.30am. Did my WOF till 1am. Went straight to my cuz Calvin's castle for bbq till 4pm, with Mia and Yan. Picked up May and Jacq before we headed to Mission Bay.

Mission Bay... I somehow gathered around 12 ppl to Mission Bay, hoping that there is a fireworks display. With all the cars swarming into Mission Bay, you can't deny that there's a fact that ppl are STILL hoping for a miracle, even though there wasn't any concrete notification about one?

We stayed on till 8pm at Bar Comida for coffee. (fuck the waitress. rot in hell. she's so grumpy and bitchy. don't ever go there ppl) it wasn't a good experience at all. ask me if u wanna know more.... haha.

Asked a police officer at Mission Bay:

Me: How's it going?
Police: .....
Me: (!!!) Will there be fireworks display tonight at Mission Bay?
Police: NO! (then stormed away with an angry face, holding his walkie talkie)
Me: (.... stunned.)

Well at least we can confirm that ppl who came to Mission Bay that night thought they could see something in fact it's just a hype:

At Burger King:
Me: Why are there so many ppl tonight at Mission Bay?
Crew: I don't know.
Me: Isn't there any fireworks tonight??
Crew: I don't think so.
Me: Then why are they still here?
Crew: They're the same as YOU.
.....

Fuck. What a bummer.

So in the end we went to Parnell Baths, meeting up with another group of friends who wanted to play with fireworks! haha!
It was awesome. though shortlived. But it's the best we Aucklanders could get. ....

I'm tired. Maybe we'll see some photos in the next post? or next week? or when i'm free? or when all photos are collected.

Till then...

2.11.06

What have u got planned this weekend? It's Guy Fawkes' Fest and there should be fireworks everywhere. But.... Auckland doesn't have a free one to go to. fuck.

What can we Aucklanders do? Here are some suggestions:

Go to Big Boys Toys - have a look at The Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3 Roadster - www.bigboystoys.com

Go to Taiwan Fest - it's free anyway, just go - http://www.viewauckland.co.nz/info_whats_on_122497.html

Worst case scenario -..... sleep.

i'd go for all but the last one.

A short one tonight but u'll have a few ideas on what to do. in auckland.

1.11.06

Had a little jog today. Not the usual jog. I jogged with random ppl. Was too bored at home after 5pm so I decided to join the 'cult' at Victoria Park Market - Nike Running.

They had 5km, 6.5km, and 10km options. Knowing my own limits I set off for the 5km one for a start. It wasn't too bad in the end. I still managed to catch my breath after 35 mins of running up and down the hilly roads in Ponsonby, St Marys Bay passing under the Harbour Bridge before cruising back to the market via Westhaven.

Looked like the route was pretty long but hey you just need to force yourself to start it somehow and hope to keep the ball rolling.

nikerunningday1

Got myself a flash little card like the ones you'd get at Video Ezy, Les Mills, etc.

nikeruncard1

nikeruncard2

Hopefully this ain't a one off running. I'm gonna keep it going from now.
